1. Who we are
Paymitra is an AI money companion for Android, built in India. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Paymitra. You can reach us at contact-support@paymitra-ai.com.
2. The short version
- Your records stay on your phone.
- We never ask for your bank login.
- AI requests are processed, never stored by Paymitra.
- No ads, and we never sell your data.
3. What stays on your phone
These are stored only on your phone, encrypted, behind an app lock you set with fingerprint or PIN:
- All your transactions and categories.
- Your accounts and card endings. Paymitra keeps the last 4 digits only, never full card numbers.
- What Paymitra has learned about you, and your rules.
- Your chat history with Mitra.
- Location tags, if you turn them on.
- The text of payment alerts Paymitra has read.
4. What we receive and why
- Google sign-in: your name, email address and Google account ID, to create and manage your account.
- Plan and purchase status from Google Play: so the app knows which plan you are on.
- Monthly usage counts per feature: to apply the limits of your plan.
This information is stored on our server in the US.
5. What our AI processing sees
Only what is needed for the request in front of it:
- The note you typed.
- Your question to Mitra, and the specific records the app sends to answer it.
- Computed numbers used to write summaries.
- On paid plans, the text of an unusual payment alert the app could not read on its own.
These requests are sent through our server to OpenRouter and the model provider we choose, with data collection by providers turned off. They are not stored by us, and we never use them to train models.
6. Payment alerts
If you allow it, Paymitra reads payment notifications on your device, only from the apps you choose. One-time passwords, offers and personal messages are ignored. You can turn this access off any time in Android settings.
7. Location
Location is optional. It is used only to tag entries you add in the app, and it stays on your phone.
8. Payments
Subscriptions are handled by Google Play. We never see your card or UPI details.
9. This website
The website uses Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to measure page visits. They do not use cookies for advertising. If you email us, we use your email to reply.
10. Sharing
We don't sell or rent your data. We use these service providers:
- Google, for sign-in and Google Play billing.
- OpenRouter and model providers, for AI processing.
- Amazon Web Services, for our server.
- Vercel, for this website.
11. Retention and deletion
- We keep your account data while your account exists.
- It is deleted within 30 days after you delete your account.
- Usage counts may be kept in aggregate, without your identity.
- To give each person one free Pro trial, we keep a one-way code made from your Google account ID after deletion. It cannot be turned back into your account, email or name.
- Records on your phone are deleted when you delete them in the app or uninstall Paymitra.

12. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email contact-support@paymitra-ai.com.
- India: under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, our grievance contact is contact-support@paymitra-ai.com. We respond within 30 days.
- US: we don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
13. Children
Paymitra is not for anyone under 18.
14. Security
Your records are encrypted on your device, and data is encrypted in transit. We keep as little data on our server as we can, and we limit who can access it.
15. Changes
When this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For material changes, we'll also tell you in the app.
